Nathan Outlaw to launch new seafood restaurant in iconic London hotel

Nathan Outlaw is to open a new seafood restaurant at The Goring in London’s Belgravia. The casual restaurant will sit alongside the hotel’s flagship restaurant, The Dining Room, and specialise in Cornish produce. Nathan said: “Creating a new restaurant in such an iconic British hotel is a huge highlight of my career. I can’t wait to get cooking at The Goring.” Earlier this month, Outlaw announced that he was closing his restaurant at The Capital hotel in Knightsbridge.

Fera at Claridge's to close its doors after last service on New Year's Eve

Fera at Claridge’s is to close on New Year’s Eve. The restaurant in London’s Mayfair was established by Simon Rogan in May 2014 although Rogan left three years later and it was taken over by head chef Matt Starling. The restaurant will shut its doors after dinner on December 31 and its replacement will be announced in the new year.

Westerns Laundry team to open new restaurant in Cornwall

Jeremie Cometto-Lingenheim and David Gingell, the co-founders of London restaurant Westerns Laundry, will open a new restaurant in Cornwall next summer. Announcing the new venture on Instagram, they said the food will be overseen from chef Jack Sorrell, who currently works at Stoke Newington restaurant Primeur, also owned by the duo.

The future of Neo Bistro looking uncertain after Mark Jarvis departure

Mark Jarvis has left Mayfair’s Neo Bistro, where he has been consultant chef since it launched in June 2017. Jarvis, who also owns Anglo in Farringdon and Stem in Mayfair, opened Neo Bistro with Alex Harper, former head chef of the Harwood Arms. Prior to that, Jarvis cooked at the Lords of the Manor in the Cotswolds, Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and Texture in London. Harper also left Neo Bistro earlier this year and their replacements have yet to be announced.

Jackson Boxer and Andrew Clarke to open second site in Notting Hill

After the success of their Shoreditch restaurant St Leonards, which opened earlier this year, Jackson Boxer and Andrew Clarke have revealed plans to open a new restaurant in Notting Hill. Called Orasay, the new site on Kensington Park Road will have a seafood focus inspired by what Boxer describes as his ‘lifelong love affair with the Outer Hebrides’. Orasay will open next spring.

Merseyside restaurant Fraiche closes its doors after 14 years

Merseyside restaurant Fraiche has closed its doors after 14 years. Chef Marc Wilkinson’s diminutive 12-seat restaurant in Oxton plans to reopen in a different location in the future, although no further details have been confirmed. Wilkinson opened Fraiche in 2004 after working in a number of hotel restaurants including Pennyhill Park.
