The sand dunes, shingle and marshy expanses of Blakeney Point Nature Reserve are a lure for birdwatchers and seal-spotters, while sailing types descend on the quay for nautical messing about; day-trippers, meanwhile, simply drop by for the bracing breezes, seascapes and estuary walks. Overlooking it all, just a few skips up the High Street, is Angela Long’s Moorings – a 'consistently good bistro over the years'. Inside, it looks every inch the family-run business, with sunny yellow walls, rustic furniture, wood-framed mirrors, the odd piscine embellishment and daughter Charlotte running front of house. Not surprisingly, fish from the local boats gets a good airing on the dinner menu, from bowls of clam and smoked haddock chowder to gremolata-crumbed sea bass with salsa verde and smoked oyster mayo. Locally reared meat, seasonal gleanings and Norfolk game also have their say (venison loin paired with red cabbage and juniper-spiked celeriac purée, perhaps), while Angel...
