There are few bakeries with the culinary pedigree of Company. Created in 2017 by chef Ben Reade, Lovecrumbs' Hollie Love Reid and Duncan and Amy Findlater of local wine bar Smith & Gertrude, the business began baking sourdough for wholesale, supplying many of Scotland's finest restaurants. Their new, expanded bakery in Musselburgh offers those exceptional loaves direct to the public, alongside a menu that features sublimely gooey Manchego and chorizo toasties, stacked sandwiches made with house-baked focaccia, and seasonal specials such as their famed hot cross buns. Cinnamon buns to die for. Lovely staff. Service tends to be slow though especially for coffee. Always a queue at weekends unless you get there early. Really interesting setting. I have still to try the savoury food.
