Tom Kerridge set to open new restaurant in Westminster

Tom Kerridge will open his first London restaurant in September. Called Kerridge’s Bar & Grill, the 90-cover restaurant will be located within the Corinthia Hotel in Westminster and the head chef will be Nick Beardshaw, the former sous chef of Kerridge’s flagship Marlow pub the Hand & Flowers. Kerridge’s Bar & Grill will include a rotisserie bar and walls featuring fridges of meat supplied by The Butcher’s Tap, in Marlow.

Marianne Lumb leaves her own restaurant for solo projects

Marianne Lumb is leaving her restaurant, Restaurant Marianne in Notting Hill five years after she opened it. The chef-owner says she will keep the restaurant open when she departs in August, with her deputy Miles Strotton taking over the kitchen. Former MasterChef: The Professionals contestant Lumb is thought to be planning new projects in Asia. She has also just been named as one of the chefs appearing on BBC2’s Great British Menu in August.

Claude Bosi reveals new look for relaunched Bibendum Oyster Bar

Bibendum has relaunched its Oyster Bar on the ground floor of the iconic Chelsea building. With a six-seat counter and open kitchen, the new look bar will serve nine types of English, Irish and French oysters and there will be a weekday ‘happy hour’ (5pm-6pm) when selected oysters will cost just £1 each. As well as oysters, Claude Bosi’s downstairs menu will feature crispy crab cake with poached egg and hollandaise; seafood platters and steak tartare.

Top chefs line up for charity party and auction at Borough Market

James Lowe of Lyle’s, Anna Hansen of The Modern Pantry and Nieves Barragan Mohacho of Sabor are among the chefs lined up for a charity food and drink event at Borough Market. Auction Against Hunger takes place in the market hall at Borough on July 22 and features a fundraising auction and food cooked by some of London’s top chefs. Tickets are £60 and all proceeds go to Action Against Hunger. They can be bought here.
