Tare Bistro bows out

On Monday, Bristol's beloved Tare Bistro announced it had closed with immediate effect. Originally an offshoot of Tare restaurant, the pint-sized shipping container site in the Cargo complex at Wapping Wharf became the main focus for chef Matt Hampshire's accomplished cooking, with sharing plates that offered 'phenomenal value for money'. Loose ends have been tied up with rent and suppliers being paid up and staff lined up with new positions.

Sally Abé to leave The Pem

Four years after launching The Pem at Conrad London St James, Sally Abé has announced she will be moving on from her post as consultant chef at the end of April. In her ascent through the kitchens of Claridge's, The Savoy, The Ledbury and The Harwood Arms where she was head chef, Abé has been a major proponent in championing fellow female chef talent. News of her replacement at the hotel is not yet confirmed.
