Halfway between Ripon's market place and the cathedral, this proper old-fashioned tea room has a thoroughly deserved reputation for doing simple things really well. The cooking is comforting and the focus is on quality, so pop in early for a breakfast bun or an 'excellent' toastie. Alternatively, come for a lunch of steak pie or chicken curry with pilau rice, and satisfy any sweet cravings with sticky toffee pudding or ‘beautiful’ homemade scones with clotted cream and jam – all served on ‘lovely floral crockery’.
