Flavour-forward tapas and melty cheese are the twin hallmarks of James Allcock's European bistro, offering the most nourishing bits of the French and Spanish canon – think truffled Rollright tartiflette, funky charcuterie and small plates such as chargrilled octopus with mojo rojo. On 'Stew Sundays', a slow-cooked special with roasted new spuds, sourdough and a glass of wine or beer should leave plenty of change from a £20 note, while a deli and wine shop provides choice morsels to take home.
