'The location right on the beach looking over the Solent is unbeatable and, after a makeover, it is now bright and elegant as well as friendly and casual! The food seems to get more and more classy, making an effort to do something different – say, seared tuna crudo with mango piccalilli, whipped avocado, chilli and popped quinoa.'

As it was our first visit to any coast anywhere this year, we wanted fresh fish and an ocean view; it started well with a very convenient car park right on the beach, and although we didn't order it - it was a lovely sunny day! We chose the Café option for the view; our table by the window gave us the desired outlook plus the warm welcome, despite being busy, made us optimistic about the food. Starters were monkfish scampi, tempura prawns and whitebait, followed by a beautifully prepared and cooked Dover sole and their signature Seafood Platter - slight niggle was that the scallops were cool, but otherwise everything else was perfectly cooked and delicious (more Tempura prawns, grilled prawns, half lobster w/garlic & harissa butter), side of truffle fries all washed down with a bottle of Muscadet - and water (optional!). Service was friendly, swift and professional, with the wait staff constantly roaming and clearing tables so none of the more usual beachfront 'caff' sight of tables ladened with dishes waiting to be cleared and taken to the kitchen. There were 3 of us and at £150 we thought it was excellent value for money. We highly recommend it and will definitely go again if we are ever back in that area.
