Ramsgate has always lagged behind Margate when it comes to eating out, but change is afoot – thanks, in part, to London hospitality veterans Damian Williams and Stuart Langley. Their laid-back, all-day ‘bar, kitchen and hi-fi’ space, just a short stroll from the Royal Harbour, offers something for everyone: by day, it’s Climpson & Sons coffee and local viennoiserie; by night, it’s killer cocktails, board games, quizzes and smart, skilfully rendered iterations of Med-style comfort food – from pumpkin and sage ravioli with burnt butter to cod brandade or velvety-rich braised ox cheek, plus steaks from the outdoor BBQ grill. Alongside superior sounds and guest DJs, there’s a rotating cast of dangerously drinkable homemade libations.
