Quince and Clover
Oxfordshire, Great Tew - British - Café
Billed as a ‘boutique events caterer’, this pretty village venue is also home to the Cotswold café – an unpretentious little spot that doles out honest food for the seasons, courtesy of chef Mary Franklin (formerly of the Nut Tree Inn, Murcott). In summer, go for one of the salads (perhaps asparagus with quinoa and soft-boiled egg); in winter, warm your cockles with a homely soup (roast parsnip and cauliflower with coconut yoghurt, say) or a pot of hearty beef-shin stew. Brunch staples, artisan cakes, sourdough breads and Origin coffee are all spot-on, and the owners also make ‘really good ice cream,’ according to one fan.
