On The Bridge
Derbyshire, High Peak - Café
Lauren and Kris Holyhead have put their hearts and souls into this immensely likeable community-minded café, spread over two floors overlooking Torrs Riverside Park. Local ingredients are the building blocks for an enterprising brunch/deli menu that covers all savoury bases from miso-glazed mushrooms on toast or sage fried eggs with lemony greens to a ‘nduja and heritage tomato sandwich with sauerkraut. Also don't miss the artichoke melt, the classic Reuben or the ‘big, fat’ sausage and egg brioche. Alternatively, dip into the rolling roster of seasonal soups and stews, salads, fudgy brownies, cakes and pastries. They make excellent coffee and cold-pressed juices too. Lovely staff receive a universal thumbs-up from locals and visitors alike.

Lovely little pit stop after a gorgeous walk. New Mills is on the up and this place is a firm favourite with locals and day trippers alike. Wonderful selection of cakes, delicious coffee from a local roaster. The menu is interesting and stands out from the usual 'greasy spoon' Fresh and vibrant is the order of the day. A must for the Good Food Guide.
