Levanter may lack space, but it has a bar and a few squeezed-in tables, or you can take advantage of the more expansive (but regularly rammed) ‘al fuera’ terrace. Also look out for the daily fish specials as well as hefty feasting dishes such as the ‘capricho oro txuleton’ – a 1kg bone-in rib steak from Galician dairy cattle. To finish, it has to be a Santiago tart or a Basque cheesecake served with raisins soaked in Pedro Ximénez. Back-up comes from a lively list of sherries, cavas, artisan beers and Spanish regional wines (many of which are available by the glass).
