Dough Heads

Bristol - Italian - Pizzeria

If you’re looking for Bristol’s best pizza, you could do a lot worse than visit this unassuming neighbourhood joint, tucked in a corner spot well off the tourist trail. Owner Jen Sankey is rightfully proud of their 72 hour-fermented dough, which gives their inventively topped pizzas a wonderful lightness and crunch. Try the indulgent tartiflette – a white pizza with reblochon, crème fraîche, fior di latte, potatoes and pancetta – washed down with a cocktail made from local distillery Espensen Spirit’s flavoured booze. To finish, how about a chocolate-filled pizza-dough empanada? The DIY decor is charmingly scruffy and the place can feel chilly, but there's no denying the warmth of the welcome. No cash.
